Landscape Bed Cleanup With Liriope and Fresh Rock

Sometimes a landscape bed just gets away from you. Overgrown grass creeping in, no real definition, nothing tying the space together. That's exactly what we were working with here - a bed running along the driveway that had lost its shape and wasn't doing the property any favors.

We started by clearing everything out. Full cleanout, down to bare soil, so we had a clean slate to work with. From there, we planted liriope along the bed in evenly spaced rows. Liriope is a great pick for a spot like this - it's tough, stays tidy, handles Florida's heat well, and doesn't need a lot of fuss to keep looking good.

Once the plants were in, we topped the bed with fresh rock. The rock gives the whole thing a finished, polished look while also keeping weeds down and reducing how much water the bed needs. It works hard without looking like it's trying too hard - which is exactly the point.

The difference between the before and after is pretty clear. The bed now has a clean edge running the full length of the driveway, the liriope gives it some structure and texture, and the rock pulls everything together. It's a small upgrade in the grand scheme of things, but it makes the front of the property look intentional and well cared for. That matters - whether you're living there or eventually planning to sell.
